Tiësto is een wereldberoemd Nederlands muziekartiest. Geboren op 17 januari 1969 als Tijs Michiel Verwest, begon hij al op adolescente leeftijd platen te mixen en stapte snel over op het componeren van originele nummers. Hij koos de artiestennaam "Tiësto", een variatie van zijn voornaam. In 2011 werd Tiësto door MixMag magazine uitgeroepen tot "beste dj aller tijden" en in 2015 won hij de Grammy Award voor "beste niet-klassieke remixopname". Hij heeft samengewerkt met vele bekende artiesten, waaronder Diplo, Martin Garrix en Oliver Heldens. Zijn muziek beslaat een verscheidenheid van genres, waaronder trance, electro house en future bass. Tiësto is bekend om zijn energieke live-optredens en heeft opgetreden op enkele van de grootste muziekfestivals ter wereld, waaronder Ultra Music Festival in Miami en Tomorrowland in België. In 2011 lanceerde hij zijn eigen kledingmerk, CLVB LIFE. Behalve muziek is Tiësto ook actief betrokken bij een aantal goede doelen. Hij is een supporter en actieve donor van Dance4Life, een organisatie die muziek en dans gebruikt om jongeren bewust te maken van HIV- en aidspreventie. Kortom, Tiësto is een buitengewoon verdienstelijk muziekartiest wiens invloed deep rooted is in de muziekindustrie.
