BIOGRAPHY

Dana Dawson is a Franco-British singer and songwriter, born on December 1, 1974, in London. Raised in France, Dana Dawson studied classical music at the Strasbourg Conservatory and pursued her jazz studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. At the beginning of her career, Dana Dawson performed as a jazz singer, before turning to pop and R&B. In 1994, she signed a contract with the dance label ffrr Records and released her first single, "Ready to Follow", in 1995. Her first album, "Black Butterfly", was released in 1996 and was successful in France, where it reached the 4th place of the charts. The single "3 Is Family" was also a hit in France, ranking 2nd. Her second album, "This Time", was released in 1998, but did not know the same success as its predecessor. Dana Dawson then left ffrr Records and signed with the dance label Jive Records. In 2001, she released her third album, "Black Butterfly II", which was a success in France, reaching the 5th place of the charts. Subsequently, Dana Dawson moved away from music to focus on her acting career. In 2006, she appeared in the French film "Les filles ne savent pas nager". In 2008, Dana Dawson made a comeback with her fourth album, "This Time II", which was a success in France, reaching the 4th place of the charts. Since then, Dana Dawson has released several albums: "Black Butterfly III" in 2010, "This Time III" in 2012, "Black Butterfly IV" in 2014, "This Time IV" in 2016 and "Black Butterfly V" in 2018. Her latest album to date, "This Time V", was released in 2020 and reached the 2nd place of the charts in France.
