Genesis is a British progressive rock band formed in 1967, originally consisting of Peter Gabriel, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, and Phil Collins. Although the group has experienced several changes in membership over the years, the founding members Gabriel, Banks, and Rutherford have remained constant. At the beginning of their career, Genesis experienced limited commercial success, but things changed with the release of the album "Selling England by the Pound" in 1973, which was moderately successful. They solidified their popularity with the album "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" in 1974. After the departure of Peter Gabriel, who left the group to pursue a solo career, Phil Collins took over as lead singer. This was followed by successful albums such as "A Trick of the Tail" (1976), "Wind & Wuthering" (1977) and "...And Then There Were Three..." (1978). The group continued their success into the 1980s with albums such as "Duke" (1980), "Abacab" (1981) and their most commercially successful album of all time, "Invisible Touch" (1986). The group disbanded in 1996, but reunited for a tour in 2007.
