Runic (born August 4, 1977) is a Norwegian musician and producer. He is best known as the leader of black metal band Gorgoroth. Runic was born in Bergen, Norway. He began his musical career in the early 1990s, playing in various black metal and death metal bands. In 1995, he joined Gorgoroth as the group's singer and guitarist. He has since released eight studio albums with the band. In addition to his work with Gorgoroth, Runic has also released music with his solo project, Ov Hell. He has also collaborated with other artists, such as King ov Hell and Ihsahn. Runic is a vegetarian and a dedicated animal rights activist. He has also expressed his support for Satanism and the occult.
