"Peter Allen, nome d'arte di Peter Richard Woolnough, nato l'10 febbraio 1944 e deceduto il 18 giugno 1992, è stato un cantautore e artista australiano. Le sue canzoni più famose sono "I Still Call Australia Home", "Quiet Please, There's a Lady on Stage" (scritta per Judy Garland), "Don't Cry Out Loud", "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" (co-scritta con Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager e Christopher Cross), e "I Go to Rio". Oltre ad aver inciso numerosi album, ha anche avuto una proficua carriera teatrale, apparendo in musical come The Boy from Oz and The Pirate Queen. Allen è stato il primo marito di Liza Minnelli, essendo stati sposati dal 1967 al 1974."
