Prince is an American music artist who achieved international success in the 1980s. He sold over 100 million records worldwide and was considered one of the greatest musicians of his time. Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Prince was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He began his music career in the 1970s playing in various funk and rock bands. In 1977, he released his first solo album, "For You", which was a commercial success. Prince then achieved international success with his album "Purple Rain", which was accompanied by a film of the same name. "Purple Rain" was both a commercial and critical success, and helped Prince win a Grammy Award and an Academy Award. In the 1990s, Prince continued to release albums and songs that were both commercially successful and critically acclaimed. He also made appearances in a few films, including "Batman" and "Girl 6". Prince passed away in 2016 at the age of 57.
