The Cure is a British rock band, originally from Crawley, in the county of Sussex. The band was formed in 1976 by Robert Smith, Michael Dempsey, Lol Tolhurst, and Porl Thompson. The band achieved immediate success with their first album, Three Imaginary Boys, and their single Boys Don't Cry. Throughout their career, the band experienced many lineup changes, with Smith being the only consistent member. The band has sold over 27 million albums worldwide.
