BIOGRAPHY
Becky G, whose real name is Rebbeca Marie Gomez, was born on March 2, 1997, in Inglewood, California. From a young age, she developed an interest in music and started writing her own music when she was only 9 years old. At 14, she was discovered by producer Dr. Luke after posting several videos of herself singing on YouTube.
After signing with Kemosabe Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment, Becky G began to make a name for herself through collaborations with established artists, including Cody Simpson and Cher Lloyd. She released her first single, "Problem," for the Paramount Animation film "Hotel Transylvania," and her second single, "Can't Get Enough," featuring Pitbull, reached the top of the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart.
In 2015, she released her first album, "Play It Again," which also included her third single, "Shower." The song received a multi-platinum certification from the RIAA, solidifying her place in the music industry. She continued to release other successful singles such as "Lovin' So Hard," "Break a Sweat," and "Can't Stop Dancin'."
Throughout her career, Becky G has also ventured into acting, appearing in the television series "Empire" and the 2017 film "Power Rangers." She is also a CoverGirl spokesperson and was named on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2016.
Despite the challenges she has faced, including growing up in poverty, Becky G has worked hard to transition from a YouTube star to a multi-platinum artist. She is an inspiration to many aspiring young musicians.
