Winterlight is a French-Swiss music group formed in 2006, composed of five musicians: Nicolas Chapel (vocals, guitar), Olivier Chapel (keyboards), Sébastien Chapel (guitar), Yann Chapel (bass) and Samuel Girod (drums). The group has released two studio albums, "Winterlight" (2007) and "The Journey" (2009), as well as an EP, "The Awakening" (2010). Their music is a blend of progressive metal, progressive rock, and symphonic elements. Their influences include Dream Theater, Rush, Queensrÿche, Pink Floyd, and Deep Purple. Winterlight has completed several tours in Europe and North America, sharing the stage with bands such as Pain of Salvation, Leprous, and Devin Townsend.
