t.A.T.u. is a Russian pop group formed by Elena Katina and Julia Volkova. The group was created in 1999 by producer Ivan Shapovalov. Their first single, "Ya Soshla S Uma" (I've gone crazy), was a huge success in Russia. Their popularity skyrocketed with their first album, "200 Po Vstrechnoy," which sold over a million copies in Russia. The group also found international success with the English version of their song "All The Things She Said," which reached number 1 in several countries. The girls were known for their provocative image, often interpreted as a lesbian relationship, although they stated they were not a couple. Unfortunately, after numerous conflicts with their producer and a series of legal issues, t.A.T.u. decided to split in 2011. Since then, Elena Katina has pursued a solo career, while Julia Volkova has had some unsuccessful attempts at a comeback.
