Tiesto è un artista musicale olandese di fama mondiale. Nato il 17 gennaio 1969 come Tijs Michiel Verwest, ha iniziato a mescolare dischi durante l'adolescenza e ha rapidamente iniziato a comporre brani originali. Ha scelto il nome d'arte "Tiesto", una variazione del suo nome. Nel 2011, la rivista MixMag lo ha nominato "Miglior DJ di tutti i tempi" e nel 2015 ha vinto il Grammy Award come "Miglior registrazione remixata non classica". Ha collaborato con molti artisti famosi, tra cui Diplo, Martin Garrix ed Oliver Heldens. La sua musica attraversa una varietà di generi, tra cui trance, electro house e future bass.
